Hello! I am married to my wonderful husband Nelson and have three children-Giselle, Ricardo, and Catalina. In our free time, we enjoy cooking, going for walks, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. We especially enjoy visiting Manitou Springs, Colorado where my family has traveled for years. I come from a family of four including my mom, dad, and sister. My mom is a retired fifth grade teacher and my sister is the librarian at Northeast High School. I think I have the best job ever and look forward to working with you!

Professional Experience

I am a fourth grade teacher at Riley Elementary, home of the Rams! I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences in May 2005. I majored in Elementary Education and concentrated in Science. I then began my teaching career at Lakeview Elementary in third grade, located in the Lincoln Public Schools District. While teaching third grade, I also decided to go back to school to work on my Master’s degree at UNL. I graduated with my Masters of Arts in August 2008. I majored in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education and concentrated in Reading. In the summer of 2009, I moved to Prescott Elementary and switched to kindergarten. While at Prescott I also taught third and fourth grades. In 2020, I returned to Lakeview to teach a year in fifth grade before accepting my current position in fourth grade at Riley Elementary in 2021. Throughout my career, I have received numerous honors including being an Inspire Educator Award recipient, Outstanding Education Award nominee, and listed in Who’s Who of Teachers in America.
