About Me

I was born in California, raised in Southern Maryland and have lived in my adopted homestate of Nebraska for 22 years.  My husband and I have been married for 24 years and have 3 sons who have grown up here in Lincoln.  We enjoy spending time with family, cheering on the Huskers and the Washington Nationals and remodeling older homes.  In quieter moments, I also enjoy reading, and knitting as well as attending concerts around Lincoln.

Professional Experience

My teaching career began In New York City, in a 2nd grade classroom.  From there, my husband and I moved to Omaha where I taught 5th, 6th and 7th grade math.  After working from home while raising our children, I returned to the classroom as a kindergarten teacher and now serve in ELL.  I enjoy learning along with my students as I take classes in many different areas. I also meet independently with other teachers to share resources, new research and ideas.  Summers have involved tutoring K-5 students and volunteering in summer reading programs.
