About Me

I was born and raised in the small town of Cozad, Nebraska. Go Haymakers! I am from a very large family with many sisters and brothers. I grew up always being around kids and I loved playing school!

I moved to Lincoln in 2007 to attend school at Southeast Community College. I spent 2 years of my college career there taking general education classes.  I spent three more years of college working on my degree in education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. In college I had many jobs, which involved working with children.  I have always enjoyed watching them grow and teaching them.

After college I taught 3rd grade with the district at Belmont Elementary for 3 years. The following year I applied for a program called Teach For America and was accepted to teach in New Orleans, LA. I taught 4th grade in New Orleans, LA for the 2015-1016 school year. It was one of the best learning experiences and has really helped shape my perspective on education and that's when I decided to move back and pursue my education further with an emphasis on school counseling. I taught for two more years at Belmont Elementary then starter my school counseling career at Pershing Elemnetary for the 2018-2019 school year. I am huge supporter of social emotional learning in the classsroom and stongly believe that it is most important that we teach the whole child to help them succeed in school and for the future.

Professional Experience

I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2012 with my degree in elementary education. In 2019 I graduated with my master's degree in school counseling from Doane University.
