About Me

Originally born in Oklahoma, I was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and lived there until I went to college. I had to look up where Nebraska was on a map when I travelled there for college, but haven't looked back.

I met my husband, Michael, while we were both in college, and we decided, after getting married, that we would work and live in Lincoln, NE. My family is all in San Antonio, but it's a magnificent place to travel, so when we can get away for a few days, we get to go see them.

My first job in education was as a Preschool Paraeducator and I absolutely loved that job! The students in that classroom taught me so many things, and them plus our amazing team are the reason why I wanted to be a teacher. I hope to show the same love and excitement for learning everyday in each of my classes!

Professional Experience

I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2008-2012, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Communication Studies. After working as a Preschool Paraeducator at Adams Elementary for 3 years, I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I graduated from Purdue University in 2018 with a Master's Degree in Special Education. I've been working at Southeast High School ever since and have loved every single day!
