About Me

I work with all grades to some extent. If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to work with you and build a support team for your child.

If I do not get back to you within 2 school days please resend your message.

I'm in my 16th year at Lakeview. The first 10 years I taught kindergarten. These past 6 years I have been an interventionist. I love this role. I love being able to provide the supports that kids need so they can feel successful at school. I love watching the growth and being able to see kids do something they didn't know they could do. I love that my instruction can be flexible and meet whatever needs my kids have.

I'm a family gal. I'm a mom of 2 crazy children and wife to Kelly. We have 2 dogs and a cat. We spend most of our time driving kids to and from whatever activities they are in or attending their performances. I love watching my own kids love the things that I also loved when I was their age. Marching band, dance, musicals, jazz band, cello, trumpet, etc etc etc.

Professional Experience

I grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Northwest in 2002.

I am a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate. I spent my first two years at UNL in the school of muisc. I realized my passion wasn't necessarily for music, it was for kids. I switched over to Elementary Education and it was been one of the best decisions of my life.

I went through the Primarily Math program through UNL which changed the way that I teach. I love engaging children in conceptual level discussions and seeing their little brains work though the problems.

I am trained in Reading Recovery and am currently finishing up LETRS training. I love to learn practical things that I can turn around and use with my kids at school. I also love learning about current research and updating my teaching based on scientific research.

I love my job, the kids, their families, and my coworkers. Lakeview is a pretty special place but I would rather you experience it than take my word for it.
