I grew up in a family of educators. Back in the 1920's, my grandmother earned her teaching degree. I even have her diplomas! Then when I was a little girl, I used to get to go to school with my Aunt Virginia. She taught in a small town school where she worked with kindergartener through 3rd grade all in one classroom. Sometimes she'd let me work with small groups of students. I loved this experience! She used to give me her extra worksheets so I could take them home and play school. I grew up loving school and knew I wanted to spend my life teaching. After graduating high-school, I went to college and earned double majors in elementary education and special education.
Shortly after graduating from college I met my husband, Eric. He lived in Lincoln so I moved from Sioux City, Iowa to Lincoln, NE. We have two children. My son's name is Isaiah and my daughter's name is Alexa. Our family has an energetic min-pin named Jack. In our free time we are generally somewhere enjoying sports such as baseball, football, soccer, and basketball.
