My name is Philip Maynard, and I currently am the Instructional Coach at Saratoga. I started my career with Lincoln Public Schools at Belmont Elementary back in 2001 teaching 3rd grade.  I moved up to 4th grade a year later and stayed there for 7 years.  

In 2009, My wife and I moved to Chicago and I started teaching for Chicago Public Schools.  While working for CPS, I worked at Dever School and taught middle school special education.  Teaching in Chicago was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.  I worked with some wonderful students and staff in Chicago.  I learned strategies and ideas to apply in LPS as well as share with my colleagues. 

In the summer of 2012, we moved back into our home here in Lincoln. We often miss Chicago.  We made many great friends and enjoyed city life.  We believe now we have more reasons to go visit though.   We love being back in Nebraska, close to our family and friends.  

Upon my return, I was hired to teach 5th grade at Brownell. I was there for seven years, the last three as the Instructional Coach.

I spent one year as a professional learning coach for the district before the position was removed.

I excitedly moved back to the the schools and for the last three years I have been the Instructional Coach at Saratoga. 

In my free time, I love riding my bicycle.  I also enjoy traveling, listening to music, cheering on my favorite Chicago (Go CUBS!) and Nebraska sports teams, and hanging out with family and friends.
