Although she has lived in Lincoln for twenty-five years now, Paula McClung still considers home to be Waycross, Georgia at the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. Located in the southeast corner of the state, she lived there until her late teens and then relocated to Auburn, Alabama. She attended college at Auburn University, but left school to become a wife and mom. After moving to Nebraska, she continued her degree and finally graduated from college at age 30. After completing her Masters degree from UNL, focusing on school reform, she is currently pursuing an administrative certificate. She and her husband have one daughter, also a teacher, and two granddaughters who are the true joys in their lives. In her free time, she is devoted to family, her school work, and reading. She recently added a new family member, a mutt named Spud, who will be getting certification as a therapy dog.
