I grew up at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. I am married and have two children. I started my career as a special education teacher after I worked for Black Hills Special Services in Rapid City, SD and ADVANCE in Brooking, SD.

2000 : Earned my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with minors in Criminology and Spanish from South Dakota State University
2004 : Earned my Bachelors of Science in K-12 Special Education from Black Hill State University
2004 - 2007: Worked as a resource room teacher at the middle school level (6-8) in Rapid City, SD
2007- 2018 : Worked as a resource room teacher at the high school level (9-12) in Spearfish, SD
2018 - current : Special education teacher and co-teacher in Algebra and Geometry at LHS
