Welcome!

I grew up on a farm north of Nebraska City, NE and attended a one-room rural school from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. There were only eight students in the entire school and my class was the largest with only three students. Attending this school is one of my most treasured life experiences.

After 8th grade, I attended Nebraska City High School (Shout out to the NC Pioneers!) and then the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  I cannot tell you when I first decided I wanted to become a teacher...it is something I always knew I wanted to be.  Many in my family before me have been teachers, with the most influential being my mother who was a 5th-grade teacher and media specialist for over 30 years.

Outside of school life, I am married to Roman and we have four children; Reicher-15, Easton-13, Lawson-10, and Quinn-9.  They all keep me extremely busy, and I love watching them learn, grow, and participate in activities they enjoy.

Thank you for sharing your child with me each day!

Professional Experience

My teaching career began in 1994 as a 4th grade teacher at South Waco Elementary in Waco, Texas.  I was a Texan for four years and enjoyed my time there.  However, there truly is no place like Nebraska and moved back home.  I have been a 5th grade teacher with Lincoln Public Schools and a part of the Cavett family since 1998.
