Bonjour!
My name is Stephanie Miller and I am excited to teach Mickle students French this year!
I am originally from Grand Island, NE but have lived in Lincoln since 2006 when I came here to attend UNL. I have been learning French since I was a freshman in high school. I love learning about the history, culture, and language of France and other French-speaking countries and I hope to share my knowledge and experiences with students. Knowing a foreign language is a life-long asset that can be useful in many different settings.
My husband and I have been married since 2016. We have a chocolate lab named Herschel and welcomed our first child in 2020. In my free time, I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, working out, and good food!
Professional Experience
I graduated from UNL in 2010 with a degree in French. I spent a semester in 2009 at the Centre Linguistique Appliqué in Besançon, France. After graduating, I returned to France for six months to be an English language assistant in a high school in a small town in Western France.
I completed my teaching certification in 2013 and worked at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Omaha for the 2013-2014 school year. My first year with LPS and Mickle was the 2014-2015 school year. I also hold a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in English Language Learners.
I've had many roles at Mickle since 2014 but my true passion is teaching students French!
