Samuel Segrist grew up in the panhandle of Nebraska, Scottsbluff specifically. He moved to Lincoln for college and graduated in 2006 from Nebraska Wesleyan University. After substitute teaching for a little bit with LPS, he worked for Omaha Public Schools teaching 9th and 11th grade English. He then attended graduate school full-time at Creighton and graduated in 2011. In 2012, he signed on to teach sophomore English, Creative Writing, Debate, and Oral Communication at Lincoln Southeast High School. When he is not coaching the LSE debate team, he enjoys fiction writing and playing guitar in two local rock bands.
His current classes are AP Language & Composition, Creative Writing, English 10 D, and Debate.
He currently sponsors three clubs: Songwriting Club, Argument Club, and Strategy Card Club.
