I am married and have two daughters. Both our daughters are also employed with LPS. Our oldest daughter is an Administator at Pershing Elementary and our youngest daughter is a Special Education teacher at Schoo Middle School. I have three grandsons who keep us very busy and we love having them close. We live on a quiet acerage outside of Lincoln with lots of open space for the boys and my sweet little dog Chloe to run and play.
This will start my 37th year of teaching with 27 of those years at Prescott. Prescott holds a special place in my heart as I have seen many familites come and go and have had the opportunity to see the next generation attend. Many things have changed over the years but the committment of staff to provide a wonderful learning opportunity for students holds true.
My philosophy of education is that every child is a learner and I set high expectations for all. We are team players and work as a community of learners to be successful in what ever learning is going on in our classroom.
I was born and raised in Lincoln. I attended school at Riley Elementary and Lincoln Lutheran Jr. High. My family moved to an acreage outside of Lincoln, I attended and graduated from Waverly High School. I attended the University of Nebraska/Lincoln and received a Bachelors degree in Family Rehabilitation/Early Childhood Education and added an Elementary Endorsement K-6.
I have taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade while at Prescott, with most of my years in 2nd grade. I am currently the Academic Interventionist and Gifted Facilitator.
