About Me

As a Reading Interventionist, I serve students at Brownell Elementary School in the morning and Hartley Elementary School in the afternoon.

Reading has always been a passion for me. As a student, it was one of my greatest joys. As a teacher, it is my deepest desire to help my students become proficient readers with a love for learning through reading. I have served as a first and second grade combined classroom teacher and as a Reading Interventionist. I have been in the LPS school system since 2018 and deeply appreciate the opportunities offered by this district. I embrace the Science of Reading mindset and endorse the Structured Literacy model of Reading education.

Professional Experience

I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska in 2000. I completed my Master's in Literacy Education with a Reading Specialist Endorsement from Concordia in 2007. In August of 2017, I completed my Doctorate in Teacher Leadership with a Reading emphasis from Concordia University, Portland, Oregon. In December of 2021, I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from York College, York, Nebraska. I have also pursued outside non-degree education in the form of LETRS training and am a Wilson-trained teacher.
