Hello Everyone! A bit about myself, I was born and raised in Auburn, NE. Most of my family still lives around the Auburn area. I enjoy going back home often as family is very important to me. My wife Mindy and I decided to raise our family in the small town of Hickman. We have a daughter named Alexis (attends Norris schools) and a son Ryker (yet to begin school). In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family, going fishing and watching football!!
My decision for becoming a teacher was an easy one as I have always had a love for working with children and watching them succeed in what they do. It all started when as a high schooler I had the opportunity to help coach young children in sports. Teaching and coaching have always been a part of my life and will continue to be. I find being a teacher to be rewarding each and every day!
I graduated from Peru State College in 2008 with my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. My first job was teaching 3rd grade at West Lawn Elementary in Grand Island. I also taught 5th grade for a year at West Lawn. In 2010 I decided to move to Lincoln to become a substitute teacher in LPS. As a substitute I was given long term assignments as a 1st grade teacher at Brownell Elementary and a Science Specialist at Cavett Elementary. In the fall of 2012, I began teaching 4th grade at Norwood Park and taught there for four years. The 2016-17 school year marked my first year at Humann. I have really enjoyed my time so far as a Humann Husky!!
