Hello! My name is Tyler Mathers and this will be my second year at Southeast teaching special education. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska into a family of many educators, so education is placed as a high priority for me.
However, I first decided to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue a degree in Psychology and Anthropology, graduating in 2014. I moved in a different direction by getting my certification from Doane University to teach special education. While working towards my certification, I was a paraeducator and substitute teacher at Clinton Elementary and then Prescott Elementary, gaining experience firsthand in the classroom.
Outside of teaching, I like to run (sometimes competitively) and rock climb (both indoor and outdoor). If I have the time, I like to read classic novels or books on world history.
I'm looking forward to an amazing 2019-2020 school year! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at tmathers@lps.org. Go Knights!
