I grew up in the small town of Valentine, Nebraska, which is located in the north-central part of the state. After graduating from Valentine High School, I attended Chadron State College and received a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree with an endorsement in Art Education (K-12) in December of 2012. Shortly after, I moved to the Lincoln area. I am currently living in Lincoln, Nebraska with my dog (Rosie) and two cats (Muffin and Nala). Prior to beginning work at North Star, I worked for Waverly School District 145 at Waverly High School for four years, as well as for the Viking Discovery Program at Eagle Elementary. I worked as a paraeducator until the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year when I obtained a full-time teaching position as a Special Education teacher. I worked as a paraeducator, here, at Lincoln North Star for one year after. The 2018-2019 school year was my first year teaching at LNS. My experiences in the Special Education department as a para and teacher inspired me to go back to school to get my Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in Special Education. I just graduated last May.
