  Meet Mrs. Meloche

Hello parent(s) or Guardian(s),

My name is Vanessa D. Meloche and I will be your students’ elementary PE teacher.  I am extremely excited to get this year started and be part of an incredible staff and school community.  I want to be able to lead by example and provide an environment that ensures the growth and development of each student, as well as inspire and relate my teachings between the classroom and everyday life.

At the age of 19 years old, I left Canada, my home country, when my Elite gymnastics career led me to the University of Nebraska Lincoln.  The challenges and experiences I have faced- the discipline and focus needed to be an elite athlete, moving to the United States as mainly a French speaker, and the many years of coaching and physical education- have prepared me to be a supportive teacher for your student.  I am also thankful for the many relationships I have made;  coaches, mentors, students, and last but not least, my Husband of 15 years and our 3 wonderful children between the ages of 3-11 years old.

In an ever-growing and changing school environment, I will strive to motivate students to see their own value, provide an environment that ensures the safety and inclusivity of all students, and help students grow mentally, physical, and socially.  My past professional experiences over the last 15 years; Certified Personal Trainer, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and Head Gymnastics Coach, has equipped me with the following skills to help support and strengthen your students’ lifelong learning:

  • Building positive relationships; empowering and educating the youth population to see their own unique potential.

  • Setting high expectations; providing consistency, and excellence each day.

  • Providing a stimulating environment; desire and willingness to work with others to achieve a common goal.

  • Meeting the needs of each individual; reinforcing participation in the classroom and providing the tools to help students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.

I welcome the opportunity to openly discuss with you any questions or concerns you may have about your students’ progress in my classroom.  You may contact me via email at  vdmeloche@lps.org  and expect a response from me in a timely manner.  You are an integral part of your students’ educational journey and I look forward to getting to know you and your students throughout this school year.

The Best is Yet to Come.  Expect Nothing.  Appreciate Everything
