My first grade teacher would tell you that I didn't want to be at school. Not because I didn't enjoy learning, but because I didn't want to be away from home all day. Thankfully, I grew out of that stage and my love for learning kept growing. I often remember helping classmates with math and science questions in high school. Now I am able to continue to do two of my most favorite things, helping others and continue learning how to be a better educator.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. We also have two dogs that share love incredibly. Other interests include sewing, baking, being outside and Do-It-Yourself projects.
Professional Experience
I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Secondary Math Education. For ten years I stayed at home to raise our boys while they were young. When they were both in elementary school, I began working there as a paraeducator. Most of my work there was in reading and math intervention. After subbing for two years, I became part of the staff here at Lux Middle School. 2015-16 is the beginning of my second year teaching math. I am excited and thankful to be here at Lux and look forward to a great year!
