Hello! I am entering my ninth year of teaching Kindergarten at Calvert Elementary!
Kindergarten is an exciting time for students because, for many, it is their first time going to school all day. It is my goal to create a safe, encouraging, and fun learning environment for my students so they can be successful and grow as life-long learners.
I am from a small town in east central Nebraska called 'Stromsburg.' I come from a long line of educators, and I have always loved working with children. After earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State College and working in advertising and customer relations for three years, I realized that my true calling is to invest in the lives of children. So, I went back to school to get my teaching certification at the University of Nebraska. As a result, I have been blessed to work with and learn from some excellent educators.
In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, being in the great outdoors, playing/watching football, volunteering at my church, and spending time with my wife, friends and family. I also love coffee!

In May of 2006, I received my bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State College. After graduation I worked in advertising and customer relations for three years before I made the decision to pursue my passion: teaching children.
In December of 2012, I finished the teaching certification program from the University of Nebraska!
Before teaching at Calvert Elementary, I worked as a substitute teacher for Lincoln Public Schools.
I have been teaching at Calvert Elementary since August of 2013!
