ABOUT ME
I am from the western end of the state, being born and raised in Grant, Nebraska. Farming was my family's way of life. I moved to Lincoln and began my teaching carrer here in 1985. I have two daughters. Being outside and "wogging" (walk-jogging) with friends is an activity I enjoy. Other interests I have include reading, shopping, traveling, and redecorating projects.

Professional Experience
After graduating from Kearney State, now UNK, I taught 6th grade for two years at Newell Elementary in the Grand Island Public Schools. My husband and I then moved to Lincoln where I taught 6th grade at Sheridan Elementary for a year before moving to teach 5th and 6th grades at Rousseau Elementary for 10 years. While teaching at Rousseau, I began pursuing my Masters Degree at UNL in Curriculum and Instruction and received this degree in 1989. Upon the opening of the new middle schools in Lincoln in 1996, I went to Lux Middle School as a 6th grade teacher/team/leader. I taught at Lux for 10 years before moving to Elliot Elementary in 2008-09 as the instructional coordinator. In 2009, I got my administrative degree from UNL and became Assistant Principal at Prescott Elementary. In 2012, I became principal of Pershing Elementary.
